Food for Living was set up by Lucy Hyland, trained nutritional therapist and Ballymaloe Qualified Chef based in Kinsale and Douglas, Cork. Following years of travelling and eating around the world, Lucy returned home to study more about the foods and flavours she discovered along the way. She studied a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy for over three years where she learnt an evidence based approach to food and health. To develop the more practical side of food, she spent a year in a Dublin based cookery school and then went on to attend Ballymaloe for 3 months, where she obtained her certification.
Food for Living’s mission statement is simple:
To educate people on the health promoting benefits of food through nutritional advice and practical cooking skills.
People generally feel that changing their habits of a lifetime is a big deal. And in some ways there are right. Yet, the changes that I have seen in people walking out my door in clinic are encouraging me that it is possible. I believe that once you arm people with a good sound knowledge of appropriate eating patterns and then give them achievable goals and the practical skills to carry them out, you are on to a winner. Food for Living aims to make healthy eating a lot easier…
I provide a range of services to all my clients including:
- One on one nutritional consultations
- Nutritional coaching
- Menu design and planning
- Cookery demonstrations
